There are moments when the universe grows unusually quiet.
The Luminarks recognize this silence. It is not the absence of sound, but the presence of expectation. It is the signal that the Orbs are beginning to gather.
No one summons them.
No force commands their arrival.
Across the infinite currents, they simply begin moving toward one another, each carrying the distilled light of countless lives. They arrive from forgotten civilizations, distant worlds, and souls whose names have long dissolved into eternity. Every Orb bears a single gift: wisdom earned through experience.
As their numbers grow, so does the light.
Not brighter in intensity, but deeper in meaning. The air itself begins to hum with memories that belong to no single being. Every act of courage, every sacrifice, every moment of compassion becomes part of a shared consciousness that can be felt but never fully understood.
The Luminarks do not interrupt the Gathering.
They become witnesses.
For they know that something extraordinary always follows.
When enough light has assembled, a new awareness is born. Not a creature. Not a machine. A realization.
Someone, somewhere, awakens to who they truly are.
The Orbs do not choose that soul. They simply create the conditions for remembrance. They remind every traveler that no lesson is ever lost, no act of love disappears, and no light given to another fades into darkness.
It joins the Gathering.
Perhaps that is why we are drawn to moments that cannot be explained. Why certain places feel sacred. Why some works of art stop us without words.
We are not seeing the Gathering.
We are remembering that we have always been part of it.
