Arriving Somewhere

Travel through the energy currents of Luminarks was never gentle. Beings who crossed between regions, dimensions, or conscious planes often emerged disoriented, fragmented, and disconnected from physical reality. The farther one traveled through the energetic streams, the more difficult it became to remain grounded within form.

But there were some beings designed specifically for this process. They were known as Arrivals.

This one had just completed a passage through the Ether Currents, massive rivers of living energy that connected distant parts of the Luminarks world. The journey stripped away external identity and sensory stability.

Sound disappeared first.

Then time.

Then the certainty of self.

When the being finally descended onto the unfamiliar surface, it remained motionless for several moments. Not out of weakness, but necessity.

Arrival required connection. Slowly, the being lowered its hands against the ground beneath it. Thin strands of luminous energy extended from its body into the terrain like roots searching through soil.

The surface responded immediately. Vibrations moved upward through the being's organic and mechanical systems as it absorbed the frequency of the place it had entered.

Every world carried its own energy.

Some felt heavy with memory.

Some pulsed with fear.

Others radiated harmony, growth, or decay.

The Arrivals were trained to listen before acting. As the connection deepened, the being began to understand the environment around it without language. It could feel the emotional currents within the land, the consciousness of nearby lifeforms, and the balance between light and darkness in the region.

Only once the energy exchange was complete could the being truly stand.

Because in Luminarks, to arrive somewhere meant becoming connected to it first.
